Dr. Justice returned to join OSI in 2013 after finishing a year-long fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala., under the direction of renowned orthopedic surgeon Lawrence Lemak, M.D. Prior to this, he completed a five-year orthopedic surgery residency through St. Mary’s Medical Center/Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and worked with the surgeons at OSI. He completed medical school at Oklahoma State University Center of Health Sciences in 2007. His undergraduate work was performed at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
Growing up, Dr. Justice was a multi-sport athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball and football. He continued his athletic career at Northeastern State University, where he played football for the NCAA Division II Redmen. He was a part of two conference championship teams, including one which made a run to the national semifinals in 1999.
During this time, he developed an interest in the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of athletic injuries. He has carried these interests into his practice today, where he focuses on problems that affect athletes and workers alike. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle, but is also skilled in total joint replacements (including anterior approach total hip replacements) and fractures of the extremities.
Dr. Justice is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and is an assistant professor of surgery with the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
